Occupational Therapy AUSTRALIA Promotes New Award:

"Celebrating Our Own”

The members of Occupational Therapy Australia want to make sure that they continue to honour and reward Occupational Therapists who make an outstanding contribution to the profession. 

To do this, they are establishing an Honours Panel who will identify and develop opportunities to recognise, acknowledge and reward members in different ways. 

There are many members of our Association who do amazing things:

Ø  some of us are incredibly creative and use innovation on a daily basis to enhance the lives of our clients

Ø  some of us work tirelessly behind the scenes on volunteer committees

Ø  some of us trail blaze new horizons to develop new opportunities for occupational therapy practice

Ø  some of us engage in, or promote, research to develop an evidence base that secures our position in the health and wellness industry

Ø  some of us have a high public profile and use this to promote our profession locally, nationally and internationally

Ø  the list of contributions goes on and on

We have a long and proud history of honouring the work of our colleagues. 

Occupational Therapy Australia wants to ensure that all of the innovation, creativity and passion within the profession continues and has the potential to be recognised, shared and acknowledged by our peers.

The Board of Occupational Therapy Australia has asked the National Advisory Committee to establish an Honours Panel to do just that. 

The National Advisory Committee is seeking nominations of members to be on the Honours Panel.

If you are keen, or know of someone who may be keen, to participate on the Honours Panel to assist to acknowledge and reward the contribution of their professional colleagues, we invite you to nominate this person to participate in the Occupational Therapy Australia Honours Panel.

Nominations for the Honours Panel close on 31 August 2010 and successful candidates will be notified by 17^th September 2010.
