The Mary Rankine Wilson Memorial Award Professional Excellence

This is the foremost award of OT AUSTRALIA Qld. The Mary Rankine Wilson Memorial Award for Professional Excellence is an annual award established in 1994 to honour the memory of Mary Rankine Wilson AM. Mary was a founding member of the Association and past president.  She was a great visionary for the occupational therapy profession, a quiet achiever who encouraged a high standard of professional skills and involvement in our professional association. 

Eligibility

  • All nominees must be nominated by a current voting member of OT AUSTRALIA Qld
  • Members of the OT AUSTRALIA Qld Board of Management are not eligible to be nominated or to make nominations.
  • The nominee will be a current member of OT AUSTRALIA Qld and will have been a continuous member for at least three (3) years.
  • Membes of regional and special interest groups are encouraged to nominate and will not suffer any discrimination in the selection process because of their honorary participation in the business of the Association.

Selection Guidelines

The successful nominee will have made a significant contribution to the profession of occupational therapy in Queensland, as determined by the selection panel.  In accordance with the professional life of Mary Rankine Wilson AM, the award is aimed at recognising special qualities including:

  • COMMITMENT to the profession,
  • PROMOTION of the profession,
  • DEVELOPMENT of the profession and
  • QUIET ACHIEVEMENT.

The contribution to the profession may be in clinical practice, research, the Association, private practice, education, policy and planning, or any other area considered worthy by the selection panel.

Relevant areas of professional activity are listed on the nomination form.

The Award

  • The award consists of a framed certificate and $750
  • The award will be presented at an event decided by OT AUSTRALIA Qld

Complete a nomination form and submit by the closing date (TBA).
Late nominations will not be accepted.

The nominees will have the opportunity to provide more detailed information and a Curriculum Vitae. They will also have the opportunity to decline any further involvement. Their nominators are not identified.

The selection panel includes the President or their representative, one metropolitan member, one regional member.
